South Shore Sundays
Posted on 17. May, 2009 by Dan Zelikman in Surfer, Videos
South Shore Sunday depicts my footage captured from surf sessions streamed from January to April of 2009 on Oahu. This short surf movie is my second that I have done, and if you haven’t seen the first please feel free to view it here. Although surfing and being in Hawaii’s waters is my first passion, filming and editing surf movies is a close follow up. I love watching surf movies in general, but it’s pretty sweet to watch your own too. It serves as both a reminder of our experiences as well as a way to share the experiences with all of you. I hope you enjoy the film, and I welcome all and any feedback you may have. Cheers for watching guys!

Cool stuff Dan and definitely got me in the mood! What camera did you sue for the water shots?

Cheers for watching Roxanne! I used an Olympus Stylus 1030SW. Its a good underwater camera with decent photo quality too.

Did you ever get your answer to Waterhog verses Egg?? I rode a 7′ 10″ Waterhog and 7′ 6″ Egg in Costa Rica and was wondering the same?

Alright you have me confused, did I mention that somewhere in a post or do I know you “K?” Either way, still think I want to try both this summer and pick a winner. Which did you like better?

Nah, you don’t know me… Yes, I saw in a post you asked same question I had, but no response. I was just riding both last week and liked the waterhog better, but wanted review and could not find reviews comparing the two. The waterhog has gotten great reviews so I will go with that. By the way, do you know where is a good longboard type break in Hawaii in July.. I am just starting out, but love it!!!! Maybe Maui somewhere? Not the zooey Waikiki… too tourist packed in summer. Thanks for your time!!

Hey K, I think the Waterhog is the better bet too, but if you come to Oahu you can check out the SurfTech store where you can actually test both boards (if they are available). I think they charge $25 or so for a couple of days. In terms of spots, Waikiki is a zoo, but the outer breaks are a little better. Three’s, Pops, etc. Have fun, safe travels!
